Hockey and Cricket

Andrew has been an athlete from a very young age and his passion for ball sports has led him to becoming a talented cricketer and hockey player. Since first picking up a bat aged 6, he has gone on to play cricket twice at Lords, representing the MCC Schoolboys against England U17 in 2013 and MCC North in the T20 finals in 2017. Throughout the summer he plays cricket at local club Toft CC, and whilst the season was shortened in 2020, in 2019, he helped Toft to reach the National T20 finals. He was also selected to play for the Cheshire County 1stXI T20 and 3 day sides.

As a hockey player, Andrew captained the North of England side at the Futures Cup at U16 and U18, and after the latter he was selected to play for England U18 against Belgium. He has since gone on to play state league hockey in Australia, captained his University side, Sheffield Hallam, through a successful season and he now plays for Brooklands HC in the National Premier League.

When he’s not playing, Andrew can be found coaching the next generation of athletes at Wilmslow HC or teaching sport at Manchester Grammar School.
