Lucy Roberts

Lucy Roberts

Waterskier

Lucy Roberts is a GB waterskier. She started competing at the age of 10 and since then has taken two British records, represented Britain in multiple international competitions and has won 14 national titles. In waterskiing there are three events; slalom, trick and jump. Points from these are then combined to give an overall score. Lucy’s strongest discipline is in overall because she does well in all three events but has chosen not to specialise in one single event. She was lucky enough to have spent a portion of lockdown living at the lake so that she could train with some of her teammates whilst maintaining social distance.

Unfortunately, in mid-July Lucy had a very nasty jump crash which resulted in her breaking her wrist in three places (ulna, radius and scaphoid). This meant that she couldn’t spend time on the water or driving the boat (which she was improving at), but she was able to stay at the lake and help out with coaching. She has been trying to keep fit as best she can considering the lack of an arm so that it will be easier for her to get back to where she was before her accident. Her goal is to break the junior British jump record of 132 feet next year and to win the Junior European championships for jump and to podium for trick and overall. Despite a setback in the form of an injury, Lucy is hopeful that some hard core winter training and physio should put her back on track for next season!

Physiofit COVID-19 Update04 January 2021

We are pleased to announce that following guidance from the government, our clinics will remain open and we are still able to see patients face to face for “medical reasons” which include physiotherapy. We will continue to maintain strict protocols with physios wearing PPE and we ask that from now on all patients wear a medical grade mask (no cloth face coverings). These can be purchased from reception on arrival at a cost of £1. These decisions have been made with the safety of our staff, patients, and the wider community at the forefront of our minds.

Whether you have a new problem or need ongoing support for an existing condition, we are here to help you get back to what you love. If you are concerned about coming in to clinic but do not want to delay starting treatment, we continue to offer virtual consultations via phone or video if these are more appropriate.

We ask for your help by making sure that if you are not well or have had recent contact with someone with symptoms of COVID-19 you let us know before entering the clinic.

We hope you and your families all stay safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you back to Physiofit
