Nico initially started his career as a sports therapist, graduating in 2013. As a sports therapist he gained experience in assessing and rehabbing athletes at all levels return to competition. This also included experience with Middleborough Football Club academy where he also assisted on match days and injury prevention screening.
He went on to qualify as a physiotherapist in 2017, going on to gain experience in a variety of areas of physiotherapy in the NHS including trauma orthopaedics, stroke rehab and respiratory/intense care before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Currently, in the NHS, he is working as a specialist outpatient physiotherapist with a focus on 3 areas: musculoskeletal, orthopaedics and rheumatology.
A way from physiotherapy Nico has achieved sporting accolades in basketball, athletics and rugby union. It was in rugby union where he excelled having represented Scotland U18, Glasgow Warriors and Newcastle Falcons. His greatest achievement came in 2015 where he gained his first international cap representing Zimbabwe in the Africa Nations Cup.
